Cupid.com Review

Cupid.com was established in 2003, targeting the romantic side of on-line dating and has since begun to place a lot of emphasis on local dating, shunning in their words the “guys in lab coats matching you with your soul mate based on superficial test results”. In fact everywhere on their site, from the page headers and titles and throughout the copy they’re targeting Local Singles.

Joining Cupid.com is a very easy process, especially since they added a Facebook connect feature – allowing you to sign-up using your Facebook credentials – so initially limiting how much information you need to give cupid.com – meaning that the sign-up process takes minutes.

Once you’ve joined you can create and flesh out your photo profile, perform searches for some good local matches, create lists of your “favourites”, check other members’ profiles and watch their video greetings (some are hilarious), send “winks” to other members, use the in-house e-mail system to send and receive messages (premium members only) and access audio and video chat rooms – for instantly connecting with other members (premium members only)

Cupid.com‘s advanced search facility allows allows members to search by: gender, age range, location (down to within 10 miles of where your home), whether the member has pictures posted, only showing profiles with pictures only, the type of relationship wanted, marital status (divorced, married, separated etc), whether they are currently on line and sexual orientation.

Cupid.com features a number of safety devices including allowing you to block members you’d rather not have contact you.

  1. Epic site, love Alice <3

  2. I was a member for quite some time on and off but stopped for awhile.I have accumulated points to use however they (cupid) make it extremely impossible to search around and see if you want to re-join. Their loss…I found interesting men but they just seem to want to date, only never wanting to commit.
